SINGING ROCK PITON Piton

The SINGING ROCK PITON is a hardened-steel piton for placing protection in rock cracks. It is intended for traditional and aid climbing where temporary or semi-permanent protection is required.

Main features and benefits

• Hardened steel construction: durable material offering strength and wear resistance.
• PITON A5 — intended use: designed for medium-width cracks approximately 5 mm thick.
• PITON A5 — available lengths: 5 cm, 7 cm and 9 cm to suit different placement depths.
• PITON V — shape: V-profile for wider and variable cracks, gives better seating in asymmetric fissures.
• PITON V — crack width range: suitable for 8–13 mm; available lengths 8 cm, 10 cm and 12 cm.

These pitons are sold individually; choose the A5 or V model and the appropriate length for the crack type. Typical use is in rock and alpine terrain for traditional or aid protection throughout the climbing season; they are not intended as permanent anchors without inspection and maintenance.
